With the Chrome Line Interior, the instruments, the air vents in the

instrument panel, and the ring around the gear lever are all finished in Chrome

for every MINI model. In addition, for MINI Cooper S/SD models, or where

one of the optional interior surface finishes is specified, or cloth/leather

or leather upholstery is selected, the central rear cupholder, door handles,

loudspeakers in the doors and seatbelt rings are also Chrome-plated.

The -speed Automatic Transmission Steptronic makes gear changes

easier, and – in Steptronic mode – decidedly sporty. In addition to the selector

lever, the 6-speed Automatic Transmission Steptronic has two optional shift

paddles on the three-spoke sports leather steering wheel (shift paddles are

available as an option on the MINI Cooper and Cooper S/SD models). These

allow drivers to make manually initiated automatic gear changes quickly and

safely without taking their hands off the wheel.

If you want to push your MINI Coupé or MINI Roadster harder, first you’ve

got to push the Sport button. This makes steering and throttle responses

more immediate, for an even more involving driving experience. On the MINI

Cooper S models, it also gives a sportier exhaust note, and on models fitted

with Automatic Transmission Steptronic, it makes gearshift times faster too.
