Optional Adaptive Headlights with automatic headlight beam-throw
control allow drivers to see further ahead in the dark.
The rear fog lights built in to the left and right of the bumper grille on the
MINI Cooper S/SD models also contain the reversing light.
The fog lights built into the front apron increase safety in poor visibility.
Bi-xenon headlights for low and full-beam settings, with headlight
beam-throw control and headlight washer system, offer particularly
powerful illumination.
The rear fog light fitted in the centre of the bumper on MINI Cooper
models also contains the reversing light, positioned on the left and right of
the fog light.

Park Distance Control (PDC) at the rear makes parking and manoeuvring in
tight spaces easier. A warning sound advises the driver of the distance between
the vehicle and an obstacle (visual signal also available in conjunction with
Radio MINI Visual Boost).

The white direction indicator lights option features clear glass in the
front, rear, and side scuttle direction indicator lights for Cooper models. White
direction indicator lights are available as an option for the MINI Cooper S/SD
and MINI John Cooper Works models in the front and rear lights. The white
side direction indicator lights are standard for these models.
A cool feature: the side windows and rear windscreen are tinted a darker
colour. Even cooler: sun protection glazing reduces the build-up of heat in
the interior of the car caused by strong sunlight, so the driver never feels the
heat.
The new rear lights feature LED technology. The direction indicator is ring-
shaped, and is positioned in the middle of the main light, while the brake
light is split into two beds, above and below the main light. The unique LED
light ring means the MINI is instantly recognizable, even at night.
